Lynn Langit - SQL Server 2008 Data Mining - What, Why, When and How

Abstract:

In this demo filled session Lynn will explain data mining concepts and will demonstrate the implementation of data mining algorithms in SQL Server 2008. She will cover the majority of the nine available algorithms using BIDS and will also discuss the client landscape and will show integration with Excel 2007. Lynn will discuss the Cloud direction and current CTP around Data Mining as well.

About Lynn:

Lynn Langit is a Developer Evangelist for Microsoft, based in Southern California. She speaks live and online about the latest developer technologies, such as Windows Azure, Silverlight, and more. Her current focus is on emerging languages, such as F# and M. Lynn hosts a weekly series on MSDN Channel 9 called geekSpeak. She is creating a multi-part screencast series on developing OLAP cubes and Data Mining structures using SQL Server Analysis Services 2008 now.

Lynn leads the Southern California implementation of Microsoft's DigiGirlz, which is a free program to give high-school aged girls information about careers in technology. She is also a trained facilitator for WomenBuild SeriousPlay with Legos, which is a new type of diversity event hosted by Microsoft, first launched at PDC08.
