Abstract:
Mastering One-off Databases - From Development to Deployment
Abstract
Whether the environment is a multi-tenancy Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model, many databases, or even a single database that goes through the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), those differences amount to one-off databases. In this session, we will cover Change Management practices, tools, and techniques to deploy changes to databases, unify and consolidate code, scripting forward and backwards, and scripting for backwards compatibility. Well also cover cross-server issues, and close with a discussion on how we, as DBAs and Database developers respond to change.
